After Nicki Minaj withdraws from the VMAs, Jesy Nelson's debut is in risk.

In order to launch her solo career with a bang, Jesy Nelson has spent weeks teasing her debut single, launched a massive promotional drive, and flown to the United States.

But even the best-laid intentions can go wrong, and it appears like the former Little Mix member is currently experiencing this.

In a previous article, I described how Jesy's management was attempting to secure the biggest performance of her career—a place at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York, where she would debut her solo single Boyz.

However, her songwriting partner Nicki Minaj has withdrawn, so neither of them will perform at the ceremony on Sunday. Instead, Lil Nas X, Camila Cabello, and Justin Bieber will take the stage.

According to a source, "Jesy and Nicki were in discussions to perform Boyz at the VMAs, and Jesy even traveled specifically to the US.

Nicki has since withdrawn, so that plan is no longer viable and Jesy's big revelation has been delayed even more.

"The single is still receiving the finishing touches and is still anticipated to release later this month.

"However, nobody wants to set a certain date for it just in case, given the delays thus far.

"Jesy is ready to go, and she has no control over these things."
